Stationery Cart Organization Update (2022)

Another year, more updates! Since last year there were quite a few changes made to the stationery cart and so I am back to provide a complete breakdown of how things are sorted. If you wish to see how it was last year please click here!

One major addition I got was a wooden cover to cover the top tier and basically be a side table. The cover helps to protect my favorite fountain pen inks that are in the top tier. What is always on the wooden cover are my ink drying tray, stamp cleaning tray, and my watercolors which I keep in Kaweco tins.

The second tier has an exploding pouch filled with letter sets and letter supplies I need to use up, a box of pen maintenance supplies, a Gloomy Bear pouch holding my camellia/tsubaki washi tapes and a bag of all of my Superior Labour pen rolls with clean but not currently used fountain pens. On the side is a basket I bought from Daiso that holds all of my clips and keychain supplies.

The bottom tier has my journaling supplies which include a hole puncher, corner rounder and my Classiky toolbox filled with wooden stamps, my engineer Superior Labour pouch with Midori stamps, print-on stickers, washi tape cards, a reusable sticker book, PET tape holder, and clear stamps. On the side is another basket with paper lace rounds. My plan is to use the basket for Instax photo refills once I use up the paper lace rounds.

The double bear holder on the side now has my sampling supplies for ink, stamps, stickers, and washi tape! Really been enjoying sending and sharing stationery with everybody so placing these here really makes it easy for me to grab and avoid a mess.

Overall this setup is a lot more organized for my use and I hope to fit more in here once I finally start using up supplies and making more space.

Stationery Cart Organization Update

Since the last "How I organize my Stationery" post, I made some changes to the cart to help me find things faster. I will break down what I have on each tier and where I purchased the extra stuff I added in case anybody else needs it.

On the top tier, I now placed all of my ink bottles, samples, and extra ink cartridges (in Kaweco tin). I try to group them by brand however there are a few single ones that are placed anywhere. The 10ml and ink samples are on this plastic tray I found at Daiso. I do cover the inks with a furoshiki I got from Baum-kuchen a while ago, so the sun doesn't get to them. I have some open space but I plan to finish more small ink bottles and samples before I buy more.

The middle tier actually stayed the same but I have obtained even more pencil cases which is why this mountain looks higher. All of my pens, custom multi-pens, markers, erasers, lead pencils and refills are all here along with my two fountain pen rolls.

The bottom tier is now all notebooks and notepads. All of these are brand new or empty and I pull these out when I use up anything. I have a few notepads for letters, Hobonichi plain notebooks, Traveler's notebooks for regular and passport size, and other papers for me to use up.

The Sentimental Circus Shappo holder is still on the side but now it has fountain pen supplies. It has three clear pockets which are pretty deep and can hold the cleaning bulb and Kaweco tins. Currently, the top section has the bulb, Ink Misers, and Q-tips; the middle has cleaned out ink vials for ink trades; the bottom has two Kaweco tins with a dip pen and all the flush and tools I use to clean out pens.

On the cart, I added two baskets that hook on the sides, one on the bottom to hold my tripod and another on the top to hold Scotch tape, white-out, adhesive, and address blocker tape. 

Lastly, I added two hanging bags that I found at Daiso which I attach with a hook I also bought at Daiso. One holds my Instax printer and film refills while the other has my Kitta Tapes and corner puncher. Thanks to these I was able to organize the bottom tier after sticking everything else there for a while.

Must say that it is so nice having all your pen-related items in one place where you can see them. I finally don't have to strain myself on remembering where my supplies are. Now the biggest challenge is trying not to buy more ink when I run out of room.

I do hope that in the future if I get more room I can have shelves to hold all of this or a better desk but until then I am working with what I got. Let me know how you organize everything and until next time, stay hyped!

Classiky Desk Toolbox Review

Hello and welcome back to another review. Today I am finally going over this lovely toolbox that has been sitting on my desk, the Classiky Toolbox! 

Classiky makes amazing storage boxes that can fit just about anything relating to tools and supplies while in very stylish, sturdy boxes. I personally got this Classiky Toolbox at Baum-kuchen. There are other storage boxes in different sizes so please do check them out if you think one of these can help you.

First let us start with the price. I ordered it in August 2020 for $102, which sounds completely reasonable for a good wooden storage box made in Japan. I believe I did buy this with some other smaller stuff since it was going to be shipped in a box anyway. 

I adore the design of this as a whole. You can see the interlocking on the sides that holds the entire thing together. The handle is small but fixes the box as a whole and the lock is not daunting but looks like a great match with the handle. The box is not that big and looks great on my desk.

The inside has two compartments, one small and one larger to fit the small sliding box which is perfect for small items. The smaller compartment fits washi tape like a dream and the inside of the lid has a clip that is secure to hold papers down. Below the clip is "Crafted with Pride in Japan Classiky's" which looks stamped into the inside lid. Overall this is so attractive. 

Now for the big question of what do I use it for. This changes along with how I rearrange my office, cause I am still cleaning a lot out and changing things up. When I first got it I did have my keychain clippers and pilers along with crochet needles and other sharp tools in here. They all fit but once I have gotten more wooden stamps I had to rearrange a few things and now have it as it is now.

Overall this toolbox has almost everything I use for journaling beside fountain pens and my notebooks. 

Let me start with what I keep in the clip. I have this laser engraved little sign I have for my online name, some stencils and an extra Traveler's Notebook regular size pencil board. Really like this clip cause it can hold a lot in fact I can put another pencil board in here and it will be fine!

The smaller compartment has most of the washi tape plus all my clips. The clips are on some magnetic strips I use sometimes for crafts. It makes it easier for them to be straight in the compartment. 

The small sliding box holds some stamps that are self inking, some camera lens for better closeup shots, and the Hobonichi paper weight bear. 

The rest of the larger compartment is used for more washi tape, my Nichiban adhesive stamp, a refill for the Nichiban, some small sticky notes, washi tape cutter and a bag of paper clips.

If I use up more of this washi tape I might put my small water colors or extra fountain pen part in here.

Overall this is really helpful for those that want to keep certain smaller things on their desk and don't want to use up a lot of space. I don't have much space to work with and I hope in the future I can find a nice secretary desk to work with so that I won't need to keep everything in a toolbox but this is perfect for now. Thus, I don't recommend this for people trying to store really large collections of stuff unless you are trying to downsize to fit everything in here.

How I Organize my Stationery (NYC Apartment)

Happy 2021! Tsubaki here and with the answer you all been waiting for, how do I organize everything!

I lived in NYC my entire life and throughout the years learned to condense my collection and magically get it to fit within one room. In this post I will breakdown the layout of each section of the room I place my stationery in. I place my stationery in four sections which are: the cart, my desk, the side table, and the archive basket. 

Cart: The cart has three tiers and I bought this from Micheal's when it was on sale a while back. The top tier has all my Hobonichi planners and covers, the sketchbook I am using, my personal FiloFax, and my olive Roterfaden. Two small keychains and my tripod are also in here. Occasionally I stick my pen rolls in here too. All of these are used daily or at least once a week so they are here for very easy access. 

The middle tier has all my Sentimental Circus pencil cases with all my pens, markers, and lead pencils which I covered in a previous post.

The bottom tier has all my ink bottles, a vanity that has all my fountain pen cleaning supplies and ink samples, some fountain pen cases, my watercolor tin, and my Chic Sparrow passport notebook with watercolor paper.

Attached to the cart are washi tape I use to pack stuff I am selling, a stapler, and an organizer with random stuff I need.

Desk: On top of the desk is my Winnie the Pooh pen cup with tools and paintbrushes and my wooden toolbox with washi tape, clips, deco tape, Nichiban tape, and few other things and a small leather card holder which has store and artist business cards. I will review this toolbox hopefully soon!

Inside the main part of the desk is a small plate of washi tape I use often in my planner, ca.crea notebook refills, all my Traveler's Notebook refills, my Fullmetal Alchemist book pouch with laminated inserts and art paper, and all my Sentimental Circus paper and plastic tapes for friend mail. 

Side table: The side table mostly has my printer, my vintage organizer I bought off of Etsy, my letter set collection, sticker collection, stamp tracker notebook, and washi tape tracker notebook. The vintage organizer has all my wooden stamps, Tsukineko VersaMagic Dew Drop ink pads, some other stamps like my Sentimental Circus stamps, MD notebook refills, cute paper for journaling, clip book for orders, Traveler's Notebook inserts I am using for my postal stamp collection and other things I don't want to carry in my leather cover, my old 2019 Hobonichi weeks for ink swatches, and my blog ca.crea notebook. 

These cups have whiteboard markers and colored pencils.

Next to the printer are file holders with my letter set collections, sticker collection, letter sets I use for mail, two Hello Kitty notebooks for my stamp, and washi tape tracking. There is also my Delfonics pink pouch holding refills for my work FiloFax and laminated papers for my personal FiloFax. 

Archive bin: This is a Hello Kitty canvas bin I bought a while back. It is super heavy with folders with important documents, my postcard collection, artists prints I switch out every now and again, two Traveler's Notebook binders, my first ca.crea blog draft book, my 2020 Hobonichi Techo, my junk journal which I used for 2019 and 2020 and the notebook I used to help me understand minimalism all last year. This bin is next to my PSVita limited editions.

Over time I hope to place the old notebooks in a better place so I can use the bin for refills or all the stuff I have next to the printer. I wish I had shelves to place all the refills and old notebooks on but I do not want to drill holes in the wall! Lack of storage place really puts a large strain on you unless you are constantly decluttering which is still a lot of work.

The Superior Labor William Morris Pen Roll Review

 Hello and welcome to a stationery review! This year I really got more into fountain pens but I had no proper place to store them. I had them in a pencil case until I resorted the pen collection, then I placed them in a large tin container before I finally decided to buy a pen roll. 

I purchased the Fruit William Morris Pen Roll made by The Superior Labor in late November and I have been using it every day since I received it. I bought this from Baum-Kuchen which is one of my favorite shops to order from. The packaging was amazing as it came in plastic in a cardboard holder with The Superior Labor 2020 Holiday label on it. If you want you can see it in this TikTok I made of it being unpacked.

Update: As of late December I purchased the other William Morris pen roll with the Strawberry Thief fabric and yellow interior liner. There will be pictures of both now in this post! 

As soon as I opened it the lovely leather smell was noticeable and I do enjoy smelling it however it is a lot less now as I been using it.

The stitching is very neat and nicely done. The thread is not thick, it is a slightly darker brown than the leather but it almost adds to the design. 

The leather is a nice natural dark brown which feels great. The Superior Labor stamp is on the bottom of the larger pocket. The interior liner of the Fruit design is a dark forest green that feels smooth and possibly water-resistant while the interior liner of the Strawberry Thief is mustard yellow.

The William Morris fabric feels smooth and like canvas. The William Morris Fruit design is a nice soft almost mustard yellow with yellow-green leaves and red and dark yellow fruits. The William Morris Strawberry Thief design is a lovely navy with mustard yellow and blue plant stems, red strawberries, and green leaves.

The brass buckle allows for extra room cause with ten fountain pens inside and it is on the third buckle.

I personally adore this pen roll, it is practical and the William Morris design really adds an even more natural feel to the natural vegetable-tanned leather. The interior liner of the Fruit design is a beautiful match to the overall yellow tone of the fabric and the mustard yellow interior liner of the Strawberry Theif is a great contrast to the overall blue tone.

I recommend this pen roll especially if people like having a buckle to secure the pen roll instead of a loose leather string and been looking for a pen roll to carry six pens and a pocket notebook or ten to eleven pens plus liking soft flower prints or anything with plants and flowers like myself.

 Now if I can buy all the fountain pens I really want it will be around 20 pens in total so having ten in each pen roll sounds reasonable.
