Pilot Kakuno (Light Green with Gray Body) Review

Hello everyone and welcome back to another fountain pen review! This is the last under $20 fountain pen I bought which is the Pilot Kakuno.

I bought this from Kinokuniya for about $12 and also bought the con-40 converter for about $8. They had all the different nib sizes in almost all the different colors. This one is light green with a gray body in fine. Really recommend going there if you have one locally cause it is just so much more exciting picking it up for yourself.

The pen is pretty light in weight and is great to help anyone get adjusted to writing with a fountain pen. The grip section is easy to hold as it isn't too small or too smooth cause it's almost like a hexagon with smooth edges.

The pen comes in a rainbow of colors in nib sizes, extra-fine, fine, and medium. The nibs have adorable smiley faces stamped on them and it is different for each nib size! The body of the pen comes in gray or white. The nib is steel and writes great. All of them come with a black ink cartridge but the con-40 converter is the easiest converter to use. It can't hold a large amount of ink but if you switch out inks frequently this is perfect. I use this with De Atramentis Document Ink cause it's great on the paper I use in my FiloFax.

These are great to carry with you in your planner pen loops as it does not have a clip. It might roll around in pen rolls unless it's between two pens with clips. I actually use mine for my day job so I leave it with the FiloFax. Even without the clip, this pen doesn't roll off your desk because of the hexagonal shape.

Overall I recommend the Pilot Kakuno pens to everybody. All of them give a great writing experience and are helpful to figure out if people prefer extra-fine, fine, or medium nibs. Even if you buy three with different nibs people are willing to buy them later as long as they aren't damaged plus they are super colorful and cute!

Thank you for reading this review! Do you also love the Pilot Kakuno? Let me know in the comments and until next time, stay hype!
