March Madness! The Video Game Limited Edition Hunt

Hey everybody, Tsubaki here with otaku March madness! Good news is Kagerou Daze is looking like it is releasing in a more regular basis. Besides that a load of Sailor Moon merch has been coming out in Universal Studios in Japan and more Sailor Moon X My Melody merch has come out which I will have another post on, but all the craziness is due to the release of held up PS VITA games. Most of the long waited visual novels are finally coming to North America after years of most of them being released in Japan. Now for all the die hard fans of any continous game or even specific companies, we want preorders. Actually some of the mess I went through in March is also due to PS4 preorders along with PS VITA preorders...

Now everybody has been waiting for Ni No Kuni II because the first game was beautiful and put people to tears because it was basically what people wanted and more. Especially if you like any Studio Ghibli movie or any work of Hayao Miyazaki in general. I have preordered it from GameStop in October but the preorder did not ship out on its release date due to apparent payment malfunctions. I know this happens but the fact that it was held up way after they were contacted and the problem was fixed and then held even more due to an item not being available due to them running out is absurd.

I feel like GameStop is going through a huge disorder with preorders as a whole. Because I has cancelled my preorder and physcially got the exact preorder from a GameStop store. Yes, there were so many physcial preorders left but yet this problem with a held preorder can not be resolved. Also this is the collector’s edition which was the huge package of exclusives considering just buying the game and or the edition with the game and keychain. This whole run around must have been due to werehouse shortages because what they have in the were house after the release is different from what the stores have in stock. Honestly if you find special editions in stores you are lucky since they only send them out once all preorders are accounted for.

Next crazy story is still continuing with no end. On the 30th of March the game after Code Realize: Guardian of Rebirth, Code Realize: Future Blessings, came out. However, there is a limited edition for Future Blessings that is posted on the site. However, NO ONE CAN PREORDER IT. I have called GameStop and several independent game stores if they have the Limited edition in stock however the stores said no or they are very unsure and haven’t heard any news about it, and GameStop just sounded confused and said no. I realized there was a copy of the limited edition but at a GameStop 30 miles from me and I called that GameStop to see if there was any way I could get it but they said no, because it was special requested before its release....

I never knew GameStop took special requests until now and that is the only copy I have even heard of (and was taken by the person that was suppose to pick it up) so far. No stores in the US has the limited edition but everybody has their websites saying that it exists but can not purchase. This makes no sense and a hand full of people have already put it up on Amazon for over 5 times its original price. Something must have happened with the Limited Edition being brought to stores or this game was so limited that no one can even get it except these few third party sellers that somehow magically obtained it. Hopefully I will get back to you all with good news of at least obtaining the Limited Edition.

To wrap up this rant post, beware to all gamers that want preorders. If you do not keep up with these preorders you might not get them. But please keep in mind, staying in contact with your local and favorite game stores can help you secure a copy. There is always a chance an extra copy is out there! Besides that it makes no sense that places that do preorders for any game have the listing up on their site but not have any to sell. If people can’t preorder and secure a copy or buy a copy once it has been released they shouldn’t have the listing up at all!
