Sailor Profit Jr. Polar Bear Fountain Pen Set Review

Hello everybody and welcome back to another fountain pen review however this time it is a set with ink! This is a huge treat as I banned myself from buying ink bottles over 30ml because I am trying to finish up more bottles of ink this year. On that related note, I do hope to give an update on ink and stationery storage once I sort a couple of items currently taking up my desk space.

I first saw this cute set on Instagram about a month or so ago and I was very unsure if any of the local shops or any retailers in the U.S. would have it as most of them barely have any of the Sailor Profit Jr. and Lecoule pens. However, I got very lucky that GourmetPens has it available especially since I love buying their exclusive pens. The set is $65 CAD and with shipping, I paid $86 CAD which to me is a great price for a limited edition pen set with an exclusive ink bottle, both with a cute design I really like. Thank you, Aziza for having this in your shop!

Now let us get into the details! This is the Sailor Profit Jr. Polar Bear fountain pen set which includes a Sailor converter and an exclusive 10ml bottle of ink with a label design to match the pen. The Polar Bear ink is Sailor Studio 230 which is red with a yellow undertone making it look more pink than red. This is my first Sailor Studio ink so I am very happy it came in such an adorable bottle.

The pen itself is completely translucent with a white design featuring polar bears sitting on ice and fishing! The feed is clear plastic so that you can see the ink all throughout the pen. The nib is a steel medium-fine tip size which I did compare to my Sailor YukiTsubaki with the same tip size but with a 14k gold nib however, the difference might just be the different inks as the YukiTsubaki wrote a bit thicker. The steel nib has more feedback than my Sailor YukiTsubaki but I don't mind it at all.

I absolutely love the bears.

Overall, I do recommend this set, especially if you wish to have a Sailor pen but don't want to spend over $100USD and still want an amazing design. I do wish more shops had these available and will consider them in the future!

As always thank you so much for reading. Until next time, stay hyped!
