Today I have something stationery-related cause it deals with cleaning, and that is the Ukoke Ultrasonic Cleaner! You might be wondering how does this relates to stationery so let me explain.
I recently ordered this ultrasonic cleaner to clean my fountain pens, especially the ones I use shimmer inks in as I feel the nib, feed, and converter must go through extra cleaning to get the lodged shimmer particles out.
This Ukoke Ultrasonic cleaner was bought off of Amazon for about $30 with an original price of $38. I have been looking to get one for a few months and I finally decided to get it since it was at a decent price. This one is in green and comes with instructions, one plastic basket, and a watch stand.
As soon as it arrived I used it on my Lamy AL-Star nib, feed, and converters. After figuring out that I should fill the converter with water to have it sink to the bottom it took one full run to see all the shimmer dislodge and make the water sparkle. I did one more run and hand clean just to be sure but it did its job! The converter and feed have no more visible shimmer left.
I am very happy with this product and now feel more confident to use more shimmer inks with my stub nibs. I recommend investing in one especially if you want to use shimmer inks in fountain pens. I don't have any plans on buying a dip pen for shimmer inks so this will be greatly used. Overall this product is easy to clean, operate and takes up very little space, making it easy to store away.
